Summon Demon

Summon Demon is a monster-only Summonings spell which summons a single common demon (tier-3 or -4) to do the caster's bidding. Such demons are manageable individually, but the variety of possible summons can cause issues if you leave the summoner to their own devices. Certain demons may also be more problematic than others (chaos-branded attacks from chaos spawn, Malmutate from neqoxecs, heavy cold damage from ice devils, etc).

As with any summoning spell, the best way to get rid of the summons is by killing the summoner (though Yara's Violent Unravelling will do in a pinch).

History

• Prior to 0.27, Summon Demon was castable by players. Demons summoned by this spell had a chance to spawn hostile.
• Prior to 0.14 spell power didn't affect the chance to summon a stronger demon.
