Kinetic Grapnel

Kinetic Grapnel is a level 1 Forgecraft spell that fires a short-range direct-damage projectile. If it successfully does damage, it lodges a grapnel in that enemy which allows the caster's next melee attack against it to be an automatic hit with +3 slaying.

Forgewrights start with this spell memorized.

Strategy

Kinetic Grapnel is passible for a level 1 spell. It is quickly outclassed by Construct Spike Launcher in terms of damage and MP efficiency, although there are a few cases where this spell remains useful:

• If MP allows, both it and Spike Launcher can be used at the same time.
• This spell can be used in cases where Spike Launcher can't.
• The spell can trigger Iskenderun's Battlesphere for only 1 MP.
