==Tips & Tricks==
*Wiglaf will always cast Hellfire Mortar off to the side of you, rather than trying to block your path.
*The mortar otherwise fires a [[Bolt of Magma]] at two different targets every turn if possible, which has a limited range of 4 and can be partially resisted with fire resistance. While each blast is somewhat low damage for its depth, it will consistently stack up meaningful damage each turn it's present unless you have reasonable defences or multiple pips of fire resistance.
*Wiglaf's melee damage is still notable for his depth when combined with Might plus his axe or mace, so it's still important to try and soften him up from a distance.
*Wiglaf can't stand on lava. [[Confusion]] (whether from [[Mephitic Cloud]], [[Alistair's Intoxication]], [[Fedhas]]' ballistomycetes, etc.) can cause him to fall in lava and instantly die, although you won't get his hat.
*Many characters may want to avoid Wiglaf in his earlier appearances, but his randart hat is frequently a strong drop for most characters, so spending piety and consumables to get the hat may be worth it.

*Prior to [[0.33]], Hellfire Mortar would end if the mortar's path was blocked.
*In [[0.32]], Wiglaf returned with the rest of the mountain dwarves. He lost his drunken priest of [[Okawaru]] flavour as well as access to [[Haste]], while gaining Hellfire Mortar and the ability to drop his hat.
*In [[0.19]], Wiglaf was removed; he bit the dust with the rest of the mountain dwarves.
*In [[0.15]] his glyph was changed from 'q' to 'g'.
*Prior to [[0.8]], he was known as Wayne.
*Prior to [[0.7]], he was not an Okawaru worshiper and lacked his special abilities.
