Storm dragon scales offer the same protection as [[plate armour]], with slightly lower encumbrance. However, since they are usually found late in the game, they are in a tight position:<br />
*Plate armour has slightly more encumbrance, and no rElec, but it's much more common: you can find and [[enchant]] one earlier. Also, you're more likely to find an [[artefact]] plate armour.<br />
*For heavy armor users, [[golden dragon scales]] can be found around the same time, and offer three resistances instead of one.<br />
*Casters and [[ranged weapon]] users will usually want a lighter set of dragon scales for their lower encumbrance.<br />
